10 SEO Terms Beginners Should Know

1. Search engine optimization (SEO)

SEO is the optimization of content based on attractiveness and visibility to search engines so that web pages can be selected by search engines. SEO is primarily used to improve the ranking of organic listings. I use the term SEO to describe the skills I recommend, but many of them can also fall into the realm of search engine marketing (SEM). SEM is all technology through search, SEO is only part of it. Now many advertisers or enterprises, such as Xiamen second-hand network, information, medical, etc., conduct marketing by searching for bid ranking, which belongs to the field of SEM.1

2. Search Engine Spider

Crawlers roam the Web looking for listings to add to the search engine’s index. Crawlers are also sometimes called Web crawlers or bots. Optimizing your page for organic listings is also about getting the creeper’s attention.

3. Black hat SEO

Use crap skills to scam search engines. Black hat SEO uses camouflage, fraud, and stealing to get high rankings in the SERPs.

4. White hat SEO

The right way to optimize your site is to make it better for users and attract the attention of creepers. In white hat SEO, anything that leads to a good user experience is also considered good for SEO.

5. Keywords

A specific word or phrase that search marketers expect searchers to frequently enter as search requests.

6. Keyword density

Also known as term density, it is the ratio of terms for a particular search request among all terms on a web page. For example, if you want a 200-word page with the keyword “found, and that word appears 12 times on your page, the keyword density for that word on your page is 6% (12/200). Search engines usually consider pages with 6–7% keyword density to be very high-quality pages. (Pages with higher keyword density are suspected of cheating.)

7. Keyword loading, keyword stuffing

A cheating technique through which keywords are overused just to lure search engines.

8. Keyword placement

Also known as term placement, a measure of value about the placement of words on a web page. All words are not created equal on the web. The words in the page title or perhaps the stage title are more important than the words in the text stage — the location of these words is its degree.

9. Keyword prominence

It is a measure of the placement and orientation of terms on a web page, indicating the value to search engines. The most prominent keyword position is the first word of the page title because the title is placed and is in the best position;

10. Keywords, key terms, and key phrases

Keywords, key terms, and key phrases are the words by which Web sites are ranked on search engine results pages (also known as SERPs). Depending on your site’s audience, you can choose a single word, a combination of words, or an entire phrase.
